The great advantage of REITs is their negotiability, the ready liquidity and the particularly attractive tax options. Since January 2007, this type of property company has also been possible in Germany. REITs are especially suitable for institutional investors who do not wish to take an excessive risk, but who still want access to the capital that is bound up in their own properties. This is done by selling the properties and thus transforming them into investment properties on the stock exchange.
